Welcome to Master Rodolfo Gutierrez and his students; the Costa Rica-based school joined the Shim Myung Do Organization in May of 2003. The new association was celebrated with a seminar given by Master Rod Bohorquez who flew in from Miami to co-host the event with Master Gutierrez. Topics covered in the seminar included basic blocking and kicking, explanation of forms, weapons, knife defense, Hap Ki Do and advanced one step sparring. Students received certificates of completion for their participation in the five-hour intensive course. Below are a few pictures from the event:

In the month of December, 2000, Master Rod had the privilege to travel to Puebla, Mexico to conduct a black belt test. Master Angel Iniques, owner of Colegio Poblano De Tae Kwon Do invited him to conduct the exam and to speak to him and other masters about Shim Myung Do. The first official meeting of Shim Myung Do in Mexico was held on Tuesday, December 19, 2000 at Master Ricardo Herrera's home. Pictured below (from left to right) are Master Adrian Mendieta, Master Rod Bohorquez, Master Angel Inigues and Master Ricardo Herrera.
The meeting was a big success concluding with the establishment of Shim Myung Do in Mexico. Master Inigues and Master Rod had the opportunity to visit and take pictures at several historic sites in Puebla.
Below are a few of the best shots (note the erupting volcano on the left of Master Rod in the first picture below.)
Master Rod Bohorquez feels it is necessary to keep the traditional values of Shim Myung Do alive and so he corresponds with various instructors throughout the U.S.A. and other countries. The Federation is in no way a substitute for any other Tae Kwon Do Federation or organization. The International Shim Myung Do Federation ("S.M.F.") is not in competition with any other organization, but instead willing to work with them.
Objectives of the Shim Myung Do Federation
To education Masters and Instructors on the History and Philosophy of Shim Myung Do. To provide official Federation Sanctional Exams and Certifications. To develop strong profitable schools through good business practice. To offer better insurance coverage for schools and students. To guide black belts in becoming better Instructors and Masters.
Who Can Join the Shim Myung Do Federation?
